Last Sunday was a big day for our family as my youngest son, who’s just 8 years old, took part in a soccer tournament. His team of five players competed in the hobby division at a local soccer park, and we couldn’t have been prouder!
The tournament was held at a spacious and lively field near 한양대학교, filled with young players eager to give their best. It was incredible to see my son and his teammates, all dressed in their matching white uniforms, ready to take on the day. From the warm-up to the moment they stepped onto the field, you could feel their excitement and a hint of nervousness.
During the matches, I watched as my son ran across the field, chasing the ball with determination and enthusiasm. He worked together with his teammates, learning the importance of communication and teamwork. There were some unforgettable moments – like when he went in as goalie and confidently defended the goal, or when he celebrated a win with his friends, all beaming with joy.
By the end of the tournament, each player proudly wore a medal around their neck. My son’s smile was brighter than ever, his eyes shining with pride at his accomplishment. It was a reminder of how much these experiences mean to kids, and how sports can teach them resilience, friendship, and the joy of achieving something together.
