그 이유는 정말 다양한데요. 그중에서도 가장 연구가 많이된 내용을 요약해 봤습니다.
A meta-analysis of 26 studies found that explicit handwriting instruction was associated with an average improvement of 1.5 standard deviations in handwriting fluency, 1.3 standard deviations in letter formation, and 0.8 standard deviations in legibility. This means that handwriting instruction was effective for about 70% of students. (Source: The Effectiveness of Handwriting Interventions)
A study of first-grade students found that those who received handwriting instruction scored significantly higher on reading comprehension tests than those who did not receive handwriting instruction. This suggests that handwriting instruction can help students to understand better what they read. (Source: Handwriting and Reading Comprehension in First Grade)
A study of second-grade students found that those who wrote by hand scored significantly higher on spelling tests than those who typed their spelling words. This suggests that handwriting can help students to better remember the spelling of words. (Source: The Effects of Handwriting on Spelling)
A study of third-grade students found that those who wrote by hand scored significantly higher on vocabulary tests than those who typed their vocabulary words. This suggests that handwriting can help students to better learn the meaning of words. (Source: The Effects of Handwriting on Vocabulary Acquisition)
These studies suggest that handwriting development can positively impact literacy and comprehension. However, it is important to note that not all studies have found the same results. Some studies have found that handwriting instruction has no effect on literacy or comprehension.
Overall, the evidence suggests that handwriting development can effectively improve literacy and comprehension for some students. However, more research is needed to determine the specific benefits of handwriting instruction for different types of students.
